Karen Capuzzi
Karen Capuzzi is a busy mother of four, but that hasn’t stopped the Somerset, NJ resident from tirelessly donating her time and resources to Family Reach Foundation. Karen created “Caring Feet in Motion,” an event held at “All Day Learning Centers” (www.alldaylearningcenters.com) in Hillsborough, NJ which encourages children to help other children who are fighting cancer and other life-threatening illnesses by moving their feet to a variety of different dance steps. The events raised over $5,000 for Family Reach families.
Since Karen is as avid an athlete as she is a supporter of Family Reach, she has routinely asked her friends and family members to support her athletic cross training efforts by sending pledges to the foundation for events such as the NYC Rollerblading Marathon, the Danskin’s Women’s Triathlon and the Baltimore half-marathon. More recently, walked 40 miles in celebration of her 40th birthday and asked her family and friends to show their support by making a gift to Family Reach. Turning each one of these endurance events into fundraisers for Family Reach, Karen explained “Whatever family and friends decided to donate increased my motivation of living up to my promise for Family Reach, in honor of all of the families they touch with their warmth and support.” Karen has also co-created the Reach Runner program, just one of Family Reach Foundation’s “Endurance Events” that encourages runners throughout the country to perform their favorite sports while raising money for its families.
In her “spare time” Karen recruits Family Reach Foundation supporters and volunteers. Family Reach Foundation thanks Karen for her inspiration, her stamina and the generosity of her supporters.
