Hector Martinez
“Run Fast, Live Slow” is the motto Hector Martinez and his wife Christine live by, reminding them to work hard, train hard, and appreciate their time together as a family. Residents of Rivervale, New Jersey, Hector and Christine have a daughter Lauren (9) and a son Andrew (7), who have several times attended Family Reach events.
In 2007, the Martinez family sold “Run Fast, Live Slow” T-shirts at our annual Family Reach 5k and donated all proceeds to the Foundation. In 2008, Hector was our top Reach Runner at the 5k event, raising over $3,055.
In 2009, Hector and Christine took their dedication to Family Reach to a new height and launched the “Run Fast, Live Slow” team (www.runfastliveslow.com). Members lace up their sneakers to run races –from 5k’s to marathons –with one goal in mind: to harness the power of the running community while giving back to those in need. Member benefits include free sneakers and a discount on running gear, while profits from the membership fees are donated to Family Reach Foundation.
This April, Hector is tackling the historic Boston Marathon to benefit the Foundation and families we serve. We hope you’ll cheer him on and make a donation toward his goal!
