Kids Reaching Kids

Caring Feet In MotionThe All Day Learning Centers in Hillsborough, NJ has hosted Family Reach's Caring Feet in Motion Event for the last two years. Kids ages two through seven moved their Caring Feet by dancing, hopping, jumping and running in place, raising pledges for their activity and participation. The children learned how important - and easy - it was to raise money for others in need. All proceeds went to families fighting cancer at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center.

The Giving Tree History

The Giving Tree was the idea of one of the social workers at Memorial Sloan-Kettering who saw firsthand that the children fighting cancer were inundated with toys and stuffed animals. However, what the children and their families really needed was help in so many other areas. Family Reach is now in our 3rd year of receiving gift cards from individuals and schools as well as large and small companies. We have distributed over $15,000 in gift cards to families at Memorial Sloan-Kettering, St Barnabas Hospital and Robert Wood Johnson. According to Laura Cunius, Certified Child Life Specialist, "The families really do appreciate it so much when we can brighten their day with a gift card. We get smiles of excitement, thanks, gratitude, and relief." Although all gift cards are appreciated, the most needed are for gas stations, phone cards, food stores and massmerchandisers.
