We look forward to welcoming tennis enthusiasts from around the area at or our 7th Annual Serving Up Hope event. Please join us for doubles round-robin action, food, drinks, tricky tray auction and highlights of the Family Reach mission. Beyond being a great evening of friendly competition, the proceeds from this event will help families fighting cancer in our community.

8pm-10:45pm – Doubles Tennis Round Robin Play
10:45pm-11:15pm – Gift Basket Raffle Winners
11:15pm-Midnight – Open Tennis

This year we look forward to adding a new element to the event with our Reach Racquet program. A Reach Athlete raises money for Family Reach Foundation by asking friends, co-workers and businesses to sponsor them for this event. Family Reach will support you, promote you, and introduce you to some incredible families whose strength and courage will motivate you. We will provide you with a fundraising page and easy ways to share the mission of Family Reach with your contacts. Reach Racquet fundraisers who raise at least $150 will receive a Family Reach t-shirt and $20 worth of raffle tickets; an additional $10 in raffle tickets will be given for every $100 raised.

If you have questions about participating in the Reach Racquet program, please contact Kathy Marchi at kmarchi@familyreach.org.

For general information, or to find out how you can become involved, please contact Marilyn Morello at rmmorello@verizon.net or by phone at 973.394.1411.

Thanks again to all of our generous participants, donors and sponsors!

Ciera

Ciera, Age 10

A single mother in her early twenties at the time, Sarah Highsmith felt overwhelmed when her then 4 year-old daughter Ciera was diagnosed with astrocytoma, a form of brain cancer. “It was scary for me because I was young. I didn’t have anyone in my corner with me. I didn’t have a shoulder to cry on.” What followed over a period of several years were multiple surgeries and hospitalizations due to complications and infections. With not enough money available even for basic needs, Family Reach Foundation intervened by providing a grant to pay the phone and electric bills and to provide funds for some basic household items. Ciera’s mom was deeply grateful for the grant from Family Reach Foundation. “I was overwhelmed with joy! I was amazed that I was getting some help with bills that I was behind on! It really did help me and my family out.”
