“Annie,” Age 12, California

January 2012- “Annie” is a 12 year old girl with leukemia. Her family recently moved to a new apartment in a town closer to family members who can help care for Annie’s siblings while her mom looks after Annie’s care and treatment needs and her dad works. Annie’s father earns a modest income and has less work during the winter months. Since the family could not afford both first month’s rent and the security deposit needed for the new apartment, financial assistance was requested.

 Family Reach provided a $1,000 grant toward a security deposit to enable the family to move closer to relatives available to care for Annie’s siblings.
