“Rishi”, Age 3, New Jersey
December 2011 – During the summer of 2011, “Rishi” a three year old boy was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a common form of childhood leukemia. Rishi resides with his parents. His mother had to stop working after Rishi’s diagnosis due to his care and treatment needs. The family’s only source of income is Rishi’s, dad’s very modest income from a full-time job. In addition to the family’s usual expenses for rent, auto loan, utilities and food, they are incurring high travel costs associated with treatment. The family lives about a 45 minute car ride away from the hospital and must travel for treatment 1 to 5 times each week. Financial assistance was requested with the family’s car payments and cell phone bill to reduce their financial burden.
Family Reach provided a $1,073 grant covering two car payments and phone charges.
