“Tara,” Age 9, Massachusetts

January 2012- Nine year old Tara was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) during the summer of 2011.  Tara lives with her mom and two teenage siblings. Her mom who was working full-time prior to Tara’s diagnosis has only been able to work occasionally in order to tend to Tara’s needs for care and treatment.  As a result, the family has fallen behind in paying their rent. Financial assistance was requested with one month’s rent to ease the financial strain on this family.

Family Reach provided a grant of $1,100 to cover a month’s rent for the family.
