Becoming a Hospital Partner
Family Reach works closely with hospitals to identify families, characterize their situations, and provide funds when appropriate. Forming closer relationships with the hospitals and the front line social workers and resource managers is extremely important. Therefore, we strive to create a manageable set of partnerships with hospitals to facilitate the process and to employ consistent operational methods and procedures.

There are two types of partnerships: a New Partner and a Premium Partner. A hospital can first become a New Partner after holding formal discussions with a Family Reach executive and filling out a basic profile. After being selected as a New Partner, the Foundation will work with the hospital to:
  • Set up a Family Reach sub-account within the hospital. This allows the Foundation to send checks for approved families to the hospital account, where they can be distributed by the social worker or resource manager. This enables us to avoid getting involved with highly personal information and logistics with the family.
  • Perform case by case reviews
  • Provide a social worker or resource manager with a private login account for our website
  • Establish other review and reporting procedures
After 12 months of New Partner status, the Family Reach Board will review the Family hospital for promotion to Premium Partner. The level of funds and current number of Premium Partners in our network will partially dictate the promotion of a New Partner to Premium status. Family Reach will support a recurring account balance that the hospital can draw upon as it evaluates and approves families without a case by case review from the Foundation (as along as general eligibility guidelines are followed).
