A Little Girl's Fight and A Family's Struggle
Nevaeh was diagnosed with Wilm's tumor four years ago and has undergone treatment at a major cancer center in the Northeast since that time. Sadly, the cancer is recurrent, with her most recent relapse appearing just a few months ago. Nevaeh's mom Stephanie works overnight from 11 PM till 9 AM in a group home for the elderly so she can be with her two Nevaeh (age 5) and her other daughter Hailey (age 6), during the day. Tragically, Nevaeh's father left the family upon hearing of her prognosis. Stephanie quickly found the daily finances, coupled with Nevaeh's medical expenses, to be unmanageable. Soon after, the Coles lost their apartment, and Stephanie moved with the girls into the spare bedroom of a friend's apartment. Though the living conditions are cramped, she is relieved to know that her daughters are with someone while she works through the night.
Family Reach has provided grants to help Stephanie pay for a variety of important bills that accumulated during Nevaeh's treatment period. The family's struggle continues as Stephanie and Hailey focus on providing love and comfort to Nevaeh as she bravely fights cancer.
