A Mother and Daughter Team Together Looking Forward
Mother and daughter Natalia and Tyla Lalicata, from Falmouth, MA are best friends and they are determined to defeat cancer. Together, they are striving to get Tyla on the other side of treatments for Medullobastoma (brain tumor) which she was diagnosed with a year ago. Tyla's dad died suddenly 4 years ago leaving Natalia and Tyla to fend for themselves. These two have had many obstacles thrown at them but they not only manage to get by, they manage to have fun doing so! They have built a fuzzy family of 4 cats (and one on the way), all of whom sport humorous and fitting names and who make them laugh daily. Family Reach Foundation paid their September mortgaging giving them a chance to catch up on their bills and focus on getting Tyla's treatments. "I can't go backwards and change what's happened, so instead I want to help other people," Tyla said.
At a young age, Tyla is already a talented artist whose work will be on display at the Family Reach Culture and Caring event at the Liberty Hotel in Boston on November 5, 2009. |
